Back in 2000 a piece of Justin Timberlake's half eaten French toast was sold to a rabid N'Sync fan on eBay for $1,025. It was consigned by New York's Z-100 radio station, who donated the proceeds to charity.

The winner told the press that she would "probably freeze-dry it, then seal it...then put it on my dresser".

  1. Kate Garraway's banana - $2,746

In 2004, a banana signed by British GMTV and Daybreak presenter Kate Garraway sold for an impressive 1,650 ($2,746) in an eBay charity auction.

Screentrade, an insurance firm, were the winners of the auction.

A spokesperson for the firm commented: "We thought it might generate a bit more fun around the office. It might be exhibited in our reception area."

  1. Niall Horan's toast - $100,000

While on an Australian morning TV show, One Direction's Niall Horan was offered a piece of toast slathered with Vegemite -the nation's favourite spread.

Unfortunately Horan wasn't keen on the taste and promptly spat it out. In the aftermath the remains of the toast were collected and placed on eBay - with the proceeds intended for charity.

The notes read: "The item is perishable and although we will package it so that tampering is evident, we do not advise that it is consumed. We will not be including the mouthful that Niall spat out - because that's just gross."

Bidding reached anincredible$100,000, although the sale was never confirmed.
