Fine wines of every kind pour into Acker's $10m Hong Kong November auction

Following their hugely successful September Asian sale, Acker have assembled an incredible collection

Acker Merrall & Condit have seen a fast and furious start to the autumn auction season, and there is no sign of it stopping. The September auction was their second largest auction to date in Hong Kong, producing an astonishing $8.77m/HK$68.4m with every single lot sold.

In sales totals, their November auction should easily surpass the September sale. It features their first 'Yellow' catalogue, which from now on will represent a sale whose value meets or exceeds $10m.

The sale will offer over 1,300 choice lots, spanning all of the greatest, finest and rarest wines from all over the world.

Starting with the Friday session, on November 5th, which will be held in the Island Shangri-La ballroom, a multitude of substantial consignments have been spread out into over 700 lots.

The first 200 lots of the sale are offerings from smaller and incredibly noteworthy cellars, and include such gems as a magnum of 1959 Lafite, a cache of 1982 and 1986 Lafite casks, an original case of 1989 Petrus, case after case of 1982 Cheval Blanc, three never before cracked casks of 1996 Margaux and many lots of Romane Conti amongst much more. That's just the first 200 lots.

This sale is far too big to cover everything worth mentioning. One particularly exciting section of superlots is expected to sell during the evening: 1982 Lafite and 1982 Petrus Imperial in their original wooden cases (owc), then one of the rarest and most historic lots ever offered at auction - one of only twenty four Jeroboams of 1945 Mouton Rothschild ever made.

Then a superlot of all 2005 DRCs in their owc's, a superlot of all DRC Assortments 1990-2001, 1996 Coche-Dury Corton Charlemagne and DRC Montrachet, and finally a superlot of Sine Quan Non, California's most demanded producer.

There are three spectacular collections from Europe that close out this first session surrounding the superlots, including the featured collection of the first session, the ongoing saga of a European collection.

Arguably one of the greatest collections in the world today, this prodigious cellar boasts such highlights as full, original wooden cases of 1945 La Mission Haut Brion (2 of them!), 1945 Haut Brion, 1947 Latour, 1961 Latour, 1945 and 1949 Mouton Rothschild, 1961 Palmer, original bottles of 1947 Cheval Blanc, 1870 Lafite Rothschild, Jeroboams and Imperials of 1982 Lafite Rothschild, magnums of 1945 Mouton Rothschild, magnums of 1961 Palmer amongst many, many others.

The crowning jewels in this session are extremely rare Twentieth Century verticals of Chateau Haut Brion (47 vintages), Chateau Latour (56 vintages), Chateau Margaux (45 vintages) and Chateau Mouton Rothschild (44 vintages). But it doesn't end here

The Saturday second session, on November 6th, will once again take place at Grissini, where yet another magnificent Asian Collection is on offer.

Massive in scope and depth, this session's collection is impressive in every way. The top brands only needed apply for entry into this consignor's collection, and only the most extraordinary of them made the cut.

The tried and true treasures of every bank of Bordeaux are represented in full effect, with particular emphasis on 400 legendary Bordeaux lots, featuring mainly the five First Growths and others like Cheval Blanc, Le Pin, Petrus and Yquem.

Without exaggeration, this collection also brandishes one of the most important collections of Romane Conti ever to be auctioned, with over 130 lots of DRC (and one-third of them are Romane Conti's).

Watch this space for news of this exciting sale by Acker Asia, which begins at 4pm, Hong Kong tiime.
