The sale of the renowned Swiss architect's personal collection saw his brother Diego's works sell with excellent results, with new auction records for the designer set by a lamp, chair, table, console, stool and side table.

The highest bids of the collection came from Diego's bronze and glass Table grecque rectangulaire, which achieved a 221% increase on its $192,000 high estimate, selling for $617,751. With each of the four struts signed "Diego", the piece was made especially for the home of his brother Bruno, and now holds the record for the most valuable Diego Giacometti table ever sold at auction.

Also selling among the highlights was a stool belonging to Giovanni Giacometti, the artist father of Alberto, Diego and Bruno. Once part of his Stampa, Switzerland studio, the stool can be seen in a photograph in which Alberto Giacometti is seated, painting his wife Annette. Against a pre-sale estimate of $3,000-5,000, the piece soared to $126,000 - a 2,420% increase in value.

A suitcase that belonged to Alberto Giacometti also featured in the sale. With no reserve and a high estimate of just $6,500, it sold for $141,516, achieving an impressive 2,077% increase. Most of the Alberto Giacometti sculptures that were once part ofBruno's collection have since been donated to the Kunsthaus Zurich.

Paul Fraser Collectibles has some fantastic art items currently available, including a handwritten letter from Claude Monet. Our sister company, PFC Auctions, is also offering a brilliant selection, with a signed poster from Willem de Kooning among the highlights.
