Elvis Presley Tiger Man Sunglasses The sunglasses were worn by Elvis during three of his live shows

The glasses were worn onstage by Elvis during three shows in 1974, including his performances at the Hilton Hotel in Las Vegas, Indianapolis and Dayton, Ohio. They sold for an impressive $22,000, soaring above their $16,000+ estimate to achieve a 37.5% increase.

The pairsold complete with certificates of authenticity from Artie Dadyan who wrote: "In the 1970's I worked for Dennis Roberts at the Optique Boutique [in Beverly Hills, CA]... Elvis would often bring glasses in for repair, and Dennis would take them and give him a replacement. Over the years, many pairs of glasses were made by me and Dennis had several pairs of Elvis glasses at any given time... these glasses were made by Dennis Roberts at his store... and were left in the repair box and never picked back up."

The auction's second highest bids were seen by an Elvis Presley Love Me Tender standee, which saw an outstanding increase of 700%, selling for $20,000 against a $2,500 estimate. Showing Elvis as he appears in the 1956 film of the same name, the life-size cut out was originally intended to stand in cinema lobbies and is one of the rarest items of Elvis' movie memorabilia, after the majority were destroyed by hordes of screaming fans.

Also selling was a signed library card from Elvis, which was recently discovered by a librarian at his former high school. Believed to be one of the earliest Elvis signatures in existence, it sold for $7,500, beating its pre-sale estimate of $4,000 by 87.5%.
