Autographed photograph by the first climber to scale the worlds highest peak

New Zealand-born Edmund Hillary (1919 -2008) was the first explorer to climb the world's highest mountain, Mount Everest, at the age of 33. During World War II, he served in the RNZAF as a navigator. He also journeyed to both the South and North Poles.

He was deeply moved by the Sherpa people of Nepal and founded the Himalayan Trust. Through the support of the trust, many schools and hospitals were built in Nepal. Time magazine named Hillary in the top 100 most influential people of the 20th century.

This photograph depicts the Himalayan mountain range, including its highest peak, Mount Everest. The full colour image measures 10.2x7.75 and is in excellent condition. Hillary's signature uses his abbreviated first name and is neatly handwritten: "Ed Hillary".
