Here's a tricky one- a report released on Wednesday concluded that the Detroit Institute of Arts' collection would sell for $2bn, to pay the bankrupt city's creditors. That all sounds well and good but the value of the paintings is said to be $4.6bn, meaning a $2.6bn loss in value. Detroit's total debt is $18bn and the DIA has been called "the single most important cultural asset to the city."
