The Road from Arras to Bapaume, a lithograph by CRW Nevinson, is among the top lots at Dreweatts and Bloomsbury's modern and contemporary prints sale in London on July 3.

The lot is valued at 40,000-60,000 ($67,863-101,795).

Nevinson Arras BapaumeNevinson's The Road from Arras to Bapaume was printed in 1919

Nevinson (1889-1946) began his career as an ardent futurist.

His large ego and abrasive personality made him few friends among the British avant garde - Wyndham Lewis specifically excluded him from the Vorticist movement in 1914.

On his return from the trenches he began painting the starkly realist battlefield scenes that made him one of the most celebrated artists of the first world war.

Last year a new auction record was set for Nevinson after his La Guerre des Trous (1914) sold for 136,400 ($180,332).

Bridget Riley's Untitled (Circular Movement) is valued at 30,000-50,000 ($50,897-84,829).

The screen-print is typical of Riley's op art inspired work, which explores the nexus between art and illusion, and is numbered one of an edition of 35.

Her auction record stands at 2.5m ($5.1m), set for Chant 2 in 2008.

David Hockney's Lithograph of Water Made of Lines, A Green Wash, and a Light Blue Wash is likely to prove another highlight with an estimate of 25,000-35,000 ($42,378-59,329).
