A Court Order / Notice issued by Sheriff of Fort William in Bengal is calling and asking one Mr. Thomas Churcher to attend on 1st March 1824 before the Justices of the Supreme Court at the Court House , Town Calcutta on behalf of the His Majesty . The order signed by  Sheriff of Fort William in Bengal with round Seal which is in Urdu/Persian on 4/10th Day of February 1824 as directed by His Majesty . 

Sheriff of Kolkata:

The Sheriff is the Chief of a Shire. He may be hereditary or appointed by the Crown or State Government. His powers functions jurisdictions are varied from time to time & from country to country.

In the year 1775 "The Sheriff" post was created in Bengal & the first Sheriff was James Marabey .
