Cotes du Rhone targets the US

France's second largest wine producing region will stage festivals, in-store tasting, and restaurant promotions in key US cities

Cotes du Rhone, the second largest appellation in France, will hold a number of US events to celebrate the outstanding wines of the Rhone Valley.

The events will include five wine festivals, in-store tastings at popular wine retailers and menu pairing promotions at select restaurants across the USA in New York, Chicago, Newport, Miami and San Diego.

Represented Appellation d'Origine Controlees will include: are Cotes du Rhone, Cotes du Rhone Villages, Beaumes de Venise, Costieres de Nimes, Condrieu, Cornas, Cote-Rotie, Crozes-Hermitage, Gigondas, Hermitage, Luberon, Saint-Joseph, Saint-Peray, Tavel, Vacqueyras, Ventoux and Vinsobres.

"These events are vital in educating American consumers about the different appellations of the Rhone Valley and offering wine lovers additional opportunities to be introduced to new producers and the latest vintages," says Daphne Payan, Rhone Valley Wines Brand Ambassador.

Cotes du Rhone kicks off its fall schedule of events at the Windy City Wine Festival in Chicago, IL on September 11-12.

Additional wine festivals will be held in Chicago, IL on September 18-19, Newport, RI on September 25 -27, Miami, FL on September 26-27 and San Diego on November 18-22.

Total Wine will also host Cotes du Rhone wine tastings at 58 store locations in Arizona, California, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, New Jersey, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia on September 12.

Restaurant promotions are scheduled for the last quarter of the year and provide the opportunity to explore Cotes du Rhone wine and food pairing experiences.

Patina Restaurant Group will feature a Cotes du Rhone wine promotion during October and November at the following New York City restaurants: Brasserie, Brasserie 8 1/2, Cafe Centro, Cucina & Co. at Metlife, Nick + Stef's Steakhouse, Rock Center Cafe and The Sea Grill.
