Colonel Tom Parker autographed photograph
Colonel Tom Parker was the former talent agent and manager of Elvis Presley who helped transform the singer from a local success into the world’s most famous performer. Background information
Parker’s talent for spotting business opportunities along with his tough negotiating made Presley the highest-paid performer in the music industry, and brought him film and concert contracts in addition to a wealth of merchandising.
Parker’s relationship with Presley was extremely close, but after the singer’s death in 1977 it was later revealed that Parker’s deal meant he was entitled to 50% of Presley’s earnings (far higher than any other contract of its kind).
This colour photograph measures 10” by 8”, and features an image on the elderly Parker wearing his signature cowboy hat.
White printed text in the bottom left-hand corner reads: “The Colonel, Longtime friend and manager of Elvis”.
Parker has signed and inscribed the photograph in black ink in the bottom right-hand corner. It reads: "To Michael, Best wishes, The Colonel.”
