Collection of rare 19th century French literature to auction

Christies are to auction a collection of literature which is brimful of rarities from some of the biggest names in 19th Century French literature. The auction, set to take place this November, will offer a first edition of 'Poèmes Saturniens' the first published collection of poetry by Paul Verlaine which is estimated to sell for $76,819 - $115,229. The auction also contains a complete autograph manuscript of Contes Indiens from 1893, adapted and rewritten by Stéphane Mallarmé, which could make $256,064 - $384,096.
