Collecting sneakers just got a whole lot easier
Sneakerheads rejoice! Flip, a new startup by entrepreneur Kemar Newell just made buying secondhand and vintage sneakers a whole lot easier.
The startup has been described by Newell as the “eBay for the Snapchat generation” and boasts over 15,000 pairs of collectible sneakers in it's mobile marketplace-all offered in 90 minute auctions.
The best part? Flip curates it's shoe listings, meaning that any seller will have to have their shoes approved by the team before they appear on the marketplace. The Flip team are hoping that this will help buyers and sellers find a middle ground in terms of the secondary price of sneakers, which has been skyrocketing on more coveted designs such as Kanye West's Yeezys and that it will also cut down on the amount of fake sneakers doing the rounds.
