Christie's fake Tucker court case underway in Australia

Christie's is in court over claims it sold a fake Bert Tucker painting in 2000

A court case is underway in Australia over claimsa Bert Tucker painting sold through Christie's isfake.

Louise McBride, a barrister based in Sydney, bought the painting for around $80,000 in 2000 - but when she tried to resell it she was informed it was almost certainly counterfeit.

Despite this, the house refuses to provide a refund - despite refunding the Australia Club for buying a Tucker forgery that same year.
