Paul Fraser Collectibles has previously reported on the continuing popularity of the Chinese stamps, which continue to see great success in auction houses despite the lack of scarcity.

The stamps were printed in sheets of 80 to mark the start of the Chinese New Year. With over five million copies produced, they are certainly not in short supply, which is usually a deciding factor for philatelists.

Yet a complete sheet of these intriguing stamps often surpasses expectations, with final sale prices in excess of $190,000.

Almost every time a sheet of these 1980 stamps has appeared, a new world record has been set. The current world record stands at HK$1,495,000 ($192,521), an impressive increase of 186% in 18 months from the previous record.

This impeccable sheet was purchased by the consignor direct from the post office and is in mint condition. This online auction is sure to attract investors and stamp collectors from around the globe, with strong interest expected from the stamp's country of origin.
