Charlie Chaplin collectibles are items of film memorabilia associated with the actor Charlie Chaplin.


Chaplin was born in Walworth, south London in 1889.

He spent the first 20 years of his life in London before finding fame in Hollywood, where he appeared in numerous silent era classic films. His Little Tramp character won him much acclaim during this period.

Charlie Chaplin received an honorary Oscar at the 44th Academy Awards.

He died in 1977.

Notable sales

  • A Charlie Chaplin “Tramp character” signature bowler top hat sold for $135,300 at the Debbie Reynolds Collection of Hollywood costumes and props in June 2011, against a high-end pre-sale estimate of $30,000.

  • An original poster from the 1919 Charlie Chaplin film Hollywood sold for $15,000 at Heritage Auction Galleries in 2010.

  • An antique collector from Essex, UK, purchased a container with an old film inside from eBay for £3.30. The film inside was titled “Charlie Chaplin in Zepped”, a previously unseen Chaplin film. The film was expected to make close to £100,000.

  • A signed studio portrait dated January 16, 1922, achieved $4,182.50 at Heritage Auction Galleries in 2010.
