Celebrity art auction raises £25,000 for charity
A series of artworks created by well known celebrities such as Joanna Lumley, Sir Peter Blake and Sir Paul McCartney have raised nearly £25,000 for charity.
The artworks were displayed at the Watts Gallery in Guildford last year, also featuring original sketches by Boris Johnson, Felicity Kendal, Dame Zaha Hadid and others.
Paul MacCartney's piece 'Love and Life' was the biggest seller on the night, achievving a sale total of £3,300, while Joanna Lumley's piece Kissy Kiss Mwah managed £400. Boris Johnson's 'self portrait' of himself riding a London bus, managed £300.
Proceeds from the sale, which was run by CharityStars will be split between the Watts Gallery and Transplant Links Community.
