Carolina Panthers Collectibles And Memorabilia

Carolina Panthers Collectibles And Memorabilia are items relating to the professional American football team based in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Brief history/biography

The Carolina Panthers joined the NFL as an expansion team in 1995.

The team colors are black, blue, silver and white, and the team mascot is "Sir Purr."

The Carolina Panthers haven't won any NFL League Championships to date, however, the team has won one NFC Conference Championship in 2003, three Division Championships in 1996, 2003 and 2008, and have also appeared in the NFL Playoffs in 1996, 2003, 2005 and 2008.

Some of the most notable players who once played for the Carolina Panthers include DeShaun Foster (who played for the team from 2002 to 2007), Reggie White (2000) and Jake Delhomme (2003 to 2009). The Panthers have also retired the jersey number 51 in honor of Sam Mills, who played for the team from 1995 to 1997 and also coached the team from 1998 to 2004.

The Carolina Panthers also have various team traditions, such as the "Stand and Cheer" Carolina Panther Song which was originally composed by Duane Evans and sung by the fans whenever the team scored during a game. "Sweet Caroline" by Neil Diamond is also another song which is sung by fans after every team home victory. The Growl Towel (also known as the "Prowl Towel") is a nickname adopted by fans which refers to the small towels that are waved in the air during Panther home games, and are most often sung during playoff games as well. The team also has a rivalry with the Atlanta Falcons which originated during the team's first season when both were signed on to be members of the NFC West.

Guide for collectors

Memorabilia that was once owned, signed, or used by Jake Delhomme (who played for the Carolina Panthers from 2003 to 2009) or DeShaun Foster (from 2002 to 2007) is considered to be the most valuable.

Carolina Panthers memorabilia that dates back to the 1996 to 1997 season, or more specifically, to the Panthers' first NFL season, is considered to be more rare and valuable than Panthers memorabilia from the 2000s.

Restoration of a Carolina Panthers football, jersey, helmet, Championship ring, uniform or Championship coin is not recommended.
