Photograph of the lunar surface signed by the American astronaut Buzz Aldrin

Buzz Aldrin (1930-) was the second man to walk on the moon, remarking "Beautiful, beautiful. Magnificent desolation." He is an accomplished astronaut, writer, explorer and rocket scientist, and inspired the Disney character "Buzz Lightyear". Todayhe designs rockets, partakes in deep sea exploring and is a world-wide public speaker.

This iconic image of Aldrin shows him on the lunar surface, 20th July 1969, while on NASA's Apollo 11 mission. The photograph was taken by Neil Armstrong, who can be seen reflected in Aldrin's visor. The Eagle Lander is also visible in the reflection. Armstrong was tasked with documenting the historic moonwalk and this image is one of the most emblematic of the mission.

The photograph measures 8x10, and features Aldrin's signature in blue felt tip. His autograph reads: "Buzz Aldrin, Apollo XI". The colour satin-finish photograph is in excellent condition, with a moderate diagonal crease.
