Buffalo Bill family albumThe album is mainly comprised of professional photograph of Cody, but also has studio shots of him with his family

The album contains 301 images, most of which are photographs of Cody, his Wild West Show or performers in the show. Also featuring studio portraits of Cody with his family, the album is estimated at $8,000-10,000.

A number of the photographs are signed by Cody or inscribed by his family with notes such as "Papa 1911". Also included are shots of Buffalo Bill dressed as Santa, and photos from a recreation of a battle between Indians and the US army.

William "Buffalo Bill" Cody (1846-1917) began his career as a rider for the famous Pony Express, before serving as a civilian scout during the American Indian and civil wars, hunting buffalo to supply the US troops.

He then formed Buffalo Bill's Wild West, an attraction that showcased the best of the west, which became an international success and saw him perform in front of some of the world's leading figures.

The sale mostly comprises photographs from Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show, but also has a number of personal items from Cody, with a hat worn by him and given to a Wild West Show agent estimated at $1,500-2,500.

A complete four-volume set of Buffalo Bill's Romances, an anthology of dime novels, which are inscribed by Cody to his daughter Irma will also star. The lot is expected to sell for $4,000-6,000.

In June 2012, Buffalo Bill's Remington revolver sold for $239,000 through Heritage Auctions.
