Bruins and Penguins auction game-worn jerseys

The Bruins and Penguins hockey teams are to auction game-worn jerseys in support of bomb victims

Monday's deadly Boston marathon bombing left the country reeling. Yesterday (April 18), however,the NHL's Boston Bruins and Pittsburgh Penguins announced they are to auction off game-worn jerseys featuring "Boston Strong" and "617" - the Boston area code - patches, to help support those affected by the marathon tragedy.

The auction will take place later today, with all proceeds benefitting The One Fund Boston.

Earlier today, a suspect of the Boston marathon bombing was killed in a shootout with Massachusetts authorities. The second suspect is believed to be on the run, pursued by police, at the time of writing.
