The auction's top sales will be seen bya superb selection of Muhammad Ali memorabilia, consigned from the collection of his former agent, Harlan Werner. However, the Brooks Robinson uniform will hold its own against The Champ, selling with an $18,000-20,000 estimate.

Brooks Robinson played his entire professional career for the Baltimore Orioles, establishing a 22-year innings from 1955-1977. Considered one of the greatest third basemen of all time, he played in 18 All-Star games, won various accolades and was World Series champion in 1966 and 1970.

However, 1969 was not so successful for the Orioles, with the New York Mets clinching the title in Game Five. It was in a deflated state following this match that Robinson gave his entire uniform to Whalen Monica, a friend who was present in the Orioles locker room.

Monica then gifted the uniform to his son-in-law, Fred Florio. When he next saw Robinson,Monica asked him to write a note to Florio, which will accompany the uniform in the sale and reads, "To Fred Florio, hope your making good use of my uniform, Brooks Robinson."

The uniform consists of a hat, jersey, pants with belt, socks and stirrups. It will be sold with a colour image of Whalen Monica and Brooks Robinson together with Orioles manager Earl Weaver.

The auction will close on June 1.
