An unknown painting of the Bronte sisters is to auction on May 24

A previously unknown painting of all three Bronte sisters is to auction on May 24, after its initial sale was cancelled to allow for further research into the piece.

Sir Edwin Landseer Bronte Painting Is this the work of Sir Edwin Landseer?

The work was originally due to sell in Northamptonshire, UK at the end of April, but was withdrawn from the sale after a collector came forward with information relating to a similar piece by Sir Edwin Landseer, one of the 19th century's greatest artists. After extensive research, the watercolour has now been attributed by a team from the National Portrait Gallery, who have confirmed its link to both Landseer and the renownedliterary sisters.
