British Guiana One-Cent sells for $9 Million
The big one we'd all been waiting for, the British Guiana from 1856, the holy grail of stamp collecting has sold at Sotheby's for $9,013,00, once again breaking the record for highest price for a single stamp to sell at auction. In spite of that, it still didn't quite reach the auction estimate of $10-20 million.
