Brewery Collectibles Club of America
The Brewery Collectibles Club of America (BCCA) is a club dedicated to the collection of breweriana-based collectibles. Its headquarters are in Fenton, Missouri.
The organisation was established in St Louis in 1970 as the Beer Can Collectors of America (BCCA). It was formed by a number of like-minded individuals following an article in the St. Louis Globe Democrat regarding the beer can collection of Denver Wright, Jr. The first meeting of the new club took place at Wright’s house.
The club currently has more than 4,000 members from the US and 27 other countries. In recent years the club has seen significant growth, thanks in part to the continued emergence of microbreweries and the general upward progression of the hobby.
The club has a number of chapters, which are the local branches of the BCCA. There are chapters in 36 US states, four Canadian provinces as well as two in Australia and one in Brazil. Most chapters arrange events each year.
The club publishes a 48-page bimonthly magazine.
There is a lending library available to all members. Books can be ordered online and are sent directly to a member’s address.
The club hosts an annual convention, known as a CANvention, which attracts more than 1,000 members. CANvention 41 will be held in Covington, Kentucky, USA on August 31, 2011 - September 3, 2011.
The Brewery Collectibles Club of America (BCCA) maintains an extensive website.
