Breaking Bad props auction expected to make $2m on Screenbid

Ahead of the season finale, props from the hit TV show Breaking Bad will auction

Almost every prop used in the production of AMC's Breaking Bad will be auctioned through Screenbid on September 29, the night the final episode of the hit TV show will be aired.

Breaking Bad Toyota Tercel Props auctionWhile several of the cars featuring in the show will be sold, Sony will not part with the RV meth lab that is one of the most prominent props of the series

Containing 250 items, the auction is led by a line-up of cars from the series, including Jesse Pinkman's Toyota Tercel, the sale of which was announced earlier this year.

However, Sony Pictures Entertainment (who have organised the sale), will not sell the mobile RV meth lab, a Fleetwood Bounder RV, with the auction site's founder Bill Block explaining: "They're keeping it for their on-the-lot tour."

Some further items have not yet been listed to avoid spoilers of the episodes that have yet to air.

Also included in the sale is Walter White's signed and inscribed copy of Walt Whitman's Leaves of Grass, which is selling with a starting bid of $3,000, as well as his hazmat suit, one of the most iconic props from the series, which opens at $1,500.

While many of the props will sell for thousands, those with a smaller budget can still bid, with a selection of props priced under $100. For example, a Los Pollos Hermanos chicken bucket starts at $25, while a duffel bag used to transport money in the show is available at just $10.

The auction is expected to make $2m in total.

With the huge success of the TV series, these props could be a sound collectible investment. Learn more about investing in memorabilia here.
