Bonhams to offer Alexander McQueen's 'Queen of the night' dress

From the late British designer's 2007 collection, the amazing dress is priced 12,000-18,000

Two dresses from the late Alexander McQueen's Autumn/Winter 2007 Ready-To-Wear collection - inspired by the Salem Witch Trials of 1692 - are to be sold at Bonhams in London.

The dresses will appear as part of Bonhams' Vision 21 sale on June 30; among the first to be sold at auction since the death of the celebrated designer on February 11.

They include a gold sequinned dress, described by Vogue as "the Queen of the night" on the eve of the Paris show.

It was most recently seen worn by Australian pop star Holly Valance at the Brit Awards this year, a few days after McQueen's death. The dress has attracted a pre-sale estimate of 12,000-18,000.

McQueen's Ready-To-Wear collection was at the time was described by The Daily Telegraph's Fashion Director, Hilary Alexander, as "one of the designer's sexiest."

The collection also featured a peacock feather dress, which is also to be sold at Bonhams estimated at 10,000-14,000.
