Two bottles of Pol Roger Champagne from 1952, the year of the queen's coronation, will be sold with a combined estimate of 1,100-1,300.The 1952 bottles were carefully selected in anticipation of the queen's 25th anniversary and have been labelled: "Special Reserve for the Silver Jubilee of H.M. Queen Elizabeth II in 1977". Other wines from the historic year include five cases of 1952 Chateau La Mission Haut-Brion, which have each been given a pre-sale estimate of 1,200-1,400. Also featuring in the jubilee section will be six magnums of Warre Port, estimated at $440-520 and a dozen bottles of Graham Port, valued at 400-480. Of course, no auction of fine wines can pass by without themighty Romanee-Conti making an appearance. A dozen bottles of the 1985 vintage will lead sales at 80,000-100,000, while a further two cases of the 1988 growth are expected to bring 60,000-80,000. The auction couldprovide excellent value for buyers, after another case of the sought-after 1985 Romanee Conti vintage sold for an impressive $187,692 in Hong Kong earlier this year. The eclectic sale will alsosee an extremely rare appearance from a Crimean wine. A dozen bottles of the Ayu-Dag Kagor 1939 from the Massandra winery will go to auction will an estimate of 850-1,000.
