Boasting a long nose and a $1.3m price tag: the 1965 Ferrari 275

With iconic coachwork by Pininfarina, this striking classic from 1965 is auctioning in Arizona

The catalogue for Gooding and Company's much anticipated January 21-22 Scottsdale auction is now online - and it's great news for collectors with a love of Ferrari.

Appearing in the sale among a selection of Enzo's automotive works of art is this 1965 Ferrari 275 GTB Alloy Long Nose - one of a long line of Ferrari's designed by Pininfarina to roll onto the auction block with a million-dollar-plus estimate.

Engine No. 08053 is housed within coachwork by Scaglietti, previously treated to a and "immaculate restoration" by Patrick Ottis Company and Moal Coachbuilders, according to Gooding and Co's lot notes.

Under the car's bonnet is a 3,285 CC Type 213 SOHC V-12 matching-numbers engine "with Desirable Six-Carburetor Upgrade", capable of powering it to 300 BHP at 7,600 RPM.

The historic 275 will appear for sale offered with its tools, books and records estimated at $1.1m-1.3m - rightly billed as "A prize for the Ferrari collector." The car is also a two-time concours Platinum Award winner and has been extensively documented by Ferrari historian Marcel Massini.

Better still, the 275 will be just one of many prizes on offer to collectors at Gooding and Co's Arizona sale. Watch this space for more news on the event.
