Bell’s Aviation and Militaria

Bell’s Aviation and Militaria is a website that supplies and displays American aviation militaria to collectors, museums and the film industry.

Its primary purpose is to supply items, information and advice to collectors and enthusiasts from around the world.

Mission statement

The ‘About Us’ page states:

“The Bell's Aviation website was started to create a source of flight gear for collectors worldwide.”

GM Bell started collecting aviation militaria in 1988 and the Bell’s Aviation website was founded in 1997.

Bell’s Aviation supplies aviation items to people who require them, provides information and advice to collectors and enthusiasts, and displays items from GM Bell’s personal collection online and at events across the USA.

Some of the people who have benefited from the activities of Bell’s Aviation include museums, private collectors, display organisations, students, magazine publications, the film and TV industry, authors and artists.

Bell’s Aviation specialises in militaria relating to the US Army Air Corps, USAF and US Navy, with emphasis on flight helmets, goggles, oxygen masks, flight jackets, and parachutes. It also has a sister website ( which deals with modern aviation militaria.

Website content

The website offers many aviation items for sale to collectors. These include helmets, visors, goggles, oxygen masks, jackets, trousers, boots, gloves, parachutes, and many others.

Bell’s Aviation has a dedicated ‘museum services’ page, outlining the provision and consultancy services the website can offer. This includes artefact identification, appraisals, restorations, and displays.

The website includes a ‘want list’ – items it requires and will pay for. It also features a virtual museum, with an extensive library of pictures from the Bell’s Aviation collection.
