Banksy's Cheltenham Spy Booth to be auctioned in London for $1.7m

Banksy's Spy Booth will be removed from the wall it is painted on in Cheltenham

Banksy's Spy Booth, which appeared in Cheltenham, UK at the start of June, is to be auctioned off by the owner of the building that it's painted on.

The work will be removed from the wall before being transported to London and displayed in an art gallery prior to auction, where it is expected to make up to 1m ($1.7m).

This isn't the first time that one of Banksy's paintings has been removed from public display - in 2011 Kissing Coppers, which stood on the wall of a pub in Brighton, was transferred to a canvas.

It sold for $575,000 in February this year.

We have an extensive range of art and photography memorabiliaavailable.
