Austin Healey Sprite could bring an 'entry-level' $6,220 at Reeman Dansie

This restored classic Sprite Mk II will auction with a large history file and a full MOT, later this week

The lesser-known corners of the car markets can frequently throw up entry-level purchasable classics - including UK auctioneer Reeman Dansie's Cars and Motorcycles auction on Saturday, October 15.

Among the sale's classic automobiles is this 1965 Austin Healey Sprite Mk II.

This classic British sports car is traditionally finished in British Racing Green with black upholstery and hood, and wire wheels.

According to Reeman Dansie's lot notes, the car was extensively restored by the previous owner. It is described as being today "in very good overall condition."

Better still, the car's 3,500-4,000 (roughly $6,220) estimate means it could be affordable to both experienced and new car collectors alike.

The Sprite Mk II will auction supplied with a large history file including bills and MOT until April 2012.

Needless to say, Austin Healeys have proven themselves at auction many times in the past.

Notable auctions include a Barons sale in Surrey, UK, February 2010 which starred an outstanding 1956 Austin Healey 100/4.

Built to Le Mans specification, the historic automobile was even more remarkable considering it was just a rolling shell and box of parts when it was returned to its native UK, from North America, in 1992.

Ten years of loving restoration later - naturally, all in accordance with the original owner's manual - and the car once again claimed the glory itenjoyed in bygone years. It brought 39,000.

Further evidence that the 1965 Austin Healey Sprite Mk II for sale at Reeman Dansie could offer an unmissable bargain to a lucky collector.
