Antonio Stradivari Marconi violin to auction at Ingles & Hayday

The Antonio Stradivari violin belonged to Alfonso Marconi, brother of Guglielmo

An Antonio Stradivari violin that once belonged to Alfonso Marconi is set to lead Ingles & Hayday's October 28 auction in London with a 180,000 ($297,616)high estimate.

Marconi Stradivari Alfonso Marconi bought the violin in 1931

Marconi was the brother of Guglielmo Marconi - the inventor of the radio.

Stradivarius violins carry a reputation as the best in the world. The auction record for a violin is held by the manufacturer's Lady Blunt model, which achieved $15.9m in 2011.
