American Girl discontinuing racially diverse dolls

American Girl has sparked outrage by discontinuing two racially diverse dolls from its Historical range-with many customers feeling there now wont be enough racial diversity in the range. The dolls to be retired are a 'Cecile', of African-American descent and 'Ivy', who is Asian-American. The company has defended their decision claiming: 'American Girl has been archiving dolls from the historical collection since 2008, and the first seven dolls that we archived were Caucasian.'
