The Aladdin Rat Patrol lunch box is a metal lunch box produced as tie-in merchandise for the 1967 American television series ‘The Rat Patrol’.

The Rat Patrol was an ABC series set during World War II, which ran for two seasons from 1966 – 1968. It followed the adventures of four Allied soldiers in the North African Campaign, three American and one British, as they fought against the Afrika Korps.

The metal lunchbox was the main piece of merchandise created for the series, and contains a thermos flask. It is yellow in colour, and depicts an illustration of two of the ‘Rats’ blowing up a German jeep with dynamite.

Larger portraits of the four main characters (along with their enemy Captain Hauptmann) appear along the sides of the box, and the reverse has an image of two further characters attacking German vehicles in a jeep mounted with a machine gun.

The thermos flask is held inside with an elastic strap, and features similar illustrations as the lunch box.

Rat Patrol lunch boxes can sell for between $30 - $80 depending on condition and whether they are intact with a thermos.
