Acker Merrall & Condit celebrates its first $1m online fine and rare wine sale...

...and they're holding a live 'Octoberfest' auction this weekend with many German wines on offer

Acker Merrall & Condit's October internet auction has proved to be their largest of all-time, and the first time they have made a million dollars in a month.

Almost 2,300 lots sold with a $1.05m taken. Bidders from all over the world battled over lots located in both the US and Hong Kong in what has been hailed as 'the drinking man's auction.'

This weekend, Saturday, October 16, they will return to New York City for another much-anticipated live auction. Acker are very happy with their recent sales, and have given the latest one a quirk to drum up in interest.

In their own words, "We have never offered more lots of German wine in an auction, so we have hailed this sale as 'Octoberfest.' "

Although by no means the majority of the sale, there is a section of 50 lots which marks the most important selection of German wines they have offered to date, featuring a variety of wines which don't come up for auction every day.

For those who are unwilling to invest in German wine however, there are a number of classics on offer, such as; cases of 1990, 1999, and 1996 DRC Assortment; 6 bottles of 1990 Roumier Musigny; cases of 2000 Chateau Lafite Rothschild and an assortment of 2003 Ausone cases in different formats.

Chateau Petrus and Le Pin in their original wooden cases, and cases of the rare Dujac Romanee St. Vivant will round out this exceptional sale.
