A $250m wine storage facility...

This Australian wine storage facility looks after 3m bottles for 8,500 clients

Australia's largest wine storage company has named the Penfold's Grange as the most collected red wine, after an inventory of the 3m bottles they hold in storage for clients.

Wine storage provider Wine Ark, stores over A$250m worth of wine in 11 facilities throughout the country.

The facilities prove popular with baby-boomers who have downsized the size of their home and no longer have space for their wine collection.

Wine Ark offers storage for over 8,500 clients, including Hollywood actress Toni Collette.

Of the 3m total inventory over 25,000 were bottles of Penfold Grange, including a 1951 valued at A$50,000.

Australian wine writer Jeremy Oliver said that people's enthusiasm for fine wines hadn't waned in the credit crunch adding "We've found many people are still keen to spend significant money on expensive wine, particularly when it comes to stocking their cellars."
