The famous star of Enki Bilal's 1980s Nikopol comic trilology did battle at Artcurial's sale, earlier this month
Comics have emerged as the big new collectible of 2010 -most notably with the auctioning of Detective Comics #27, Batman's first-ever appearance, for an incredible $1,075,500.
On March 13, collectors who missed out on that sale had another chance to get involved in the comic markets at Artcurial's Comic Strips: An Amateur's Collection auction held in Paris.

The major highlight of the sale featured Nikopol, the star of writer Enki Bilal's popular science fiction comics from 1980-1993.
Drawn by Edwin Charles Tubb and published in 1980 for issue number 13 of the Le Masque Science Fiction collection, this exceptional artwork (pictured)sold for 25,202.
The comic issue in which it was featured was entitled La Foire aux Immortels.
