A 1908 Coca-Cola advertising poster is the headline lot of Morphy's February 22 auction in Denver, carrying an estimate of $18,000-25,000.

It is rare for advertising from this period to survive in such good order, making this example exceptional.

Despite its age, the colours remain vibrant, while the paper continues to exhibit a fresh shine.

In 2011, a Coca-Cola lithograph sign from 1896 sold for $105,000 at auction.

The drink, which went on to become the world's most popular soda, was invented in 1886 as an attempt to wean its creator, John Pemberton, away from a crippling addiction to morphine.

The early formula contained cocaine, an ingredient that was removed from the recipe in 1929.

A Coca-Cola calendar dating to 1905 is valued at $12,000-18,000.

It features only a small amount of wear with strong and bold colouring.

Also featured is a Coca-Cola Brunhoff lighted counter sign, which is expected to make $10,000-15,000.

It has been restored and features a superb lens with no chips or marks.

Another auction taking place at Morphy, on February 28, will feature the sale of a Harbour Petroleum Products sign, which carries an estimate of $60,000.
