Winchester signal cannons are antique and vintage collectible items of militaria, produced in the US by New Haven, Connecticut-based Winchester Repeating Arms Company. They are much sought after by collectors and are also employed as the starting cannon for the America’s Cup sailing series.

Antique or vintage?

Cannons produced more than 100 years ago are classed as “antique” according to the 1930 Smoot-Hawley Tariff Act’s definition.

“Vintage” refers to pieces manufactured within the last 100 years and can include items made as recently as the 1980s.
