While most military dress uniforms do everything that they can to look as grand as possible this is probably the first example I've seen of eagle feathers being used as decoration! This particular garb was worn by a member of the Royal Company of Archers'- The Queen's personal bodyguards while in Scotland. Originally owned by Francis John Carruthers, a man that spent his life in service, the set are at auction at Lyon and Turnbull with an estimated value of £600-800.
