Queensferry Museum opens WWI exhibtiion
Medals, unseen photographs, uniforms and other memorabilia is to form part of a new exhibition in South Queensferry, remembering those who lost their lives during WWI and detailing the lives of the women in Queensferry who were left behind during the war.
The exhibition hopes to give insight into what the royal burgh was like during the war as well as allowing visitors to get to know the soldiers who went to war and never returned. The exhibition will detail the 1916 Battle of Jutland in which 2000 lives and two battle cruisers were lost and how those wounded were treated at the Royal Naval Hospital at Butlaw, to the west of South Queensferry.
The exhibition is now open and will run for 6 months time at the Queensferry Museum.
