Napoléon's bicorn hat heading to auction

If there is one item of clothing that defined the look of Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte it's his hat- and that's no coincidence. While 'Bicorns' were apparently quite widespread, Napoleon was the only one to wear his sideways. Napoleon had 120 of these hats over a number of years, supplied by Palais-Royal of Paris- 30 are known to still exist, with this one expecting to sell for €300-400,000 at auction. The hat still has its original gray-green silk lining and heads to auction at Osenat on the 15th of November surrounded by other incredible Napoleonic pieces.
