Lot 916: Rommel Erwin: (1891-1944) German Field Marshal Of World War Ii. D.S., Rommel, In Bold Pencil, One Page, 4To, Geffechtsstand (Command Post), N.D., On The Printed Stationery Of The Panzerarmee Afrika. The Printed Document, In German, Is A Form Letter To An Unknown Recipient, Explaining That He Receives So Many Messages Daily From Germany That He Cannot Answer Them All Personally, And Continuing To Refer To The German Troops Under His Command In North Africa, As Well As The 'Extremely Brave And Dutiful' Italian Comrades Fighting At Their Side 'For The Common Victory' Which Will 'Contribute To The Final Victory Of The Axis'. In A Typed Postscript Rommel States That He Has No Photographs Available At Present. Some Very Light, Extremely Minor Foxing, And One Small Tear To The Lower Edge, Not Affecting The Text Or Signature, Otherwise Vg International Autograph Auctions' Autograph Auction July 2015 Saturday, 18th July 2015 Estimate: £200 - 300
