Lot 721: WWI. Three Bronze Death Plaques 'Richard Henry Hocking Hunt', 'William Cyril Simpson', 'Arthur George Henley', good very fine and better. Two possibilities for William Cyril Hunt, one to a Private in the Australian Imperial Force the other to a Lance Corporal serving with The Queen's (Royal West Surrey Regiment) killed in action on the First Day of the Battle of the Somme (1.7.1916). Richard Henry Hocking Hunt was born in Truro in 1896, he served with the Royal Navy during WWI and was killed along with 12 other men when the Torpedo ship which he was working on exploded in Ramsgate Harbour on 26 May 1917.
