Lot 637: WWII - Propaganda Poster. Careless Talk Costs Lives, circa 1944, artwork after L. Masquelier (Lorraine Squadron), showing a primitive man with a club sneaking up on a young carefree couple chatting by a lakeside, some slight soiling and marks, cut down and relaid with small tears visible to lower outer corners, 43 x 32cm, framed and glazed. Louis Masquelier (1898-1961) joined the Free French Forces in 1940. He produced various illustrations for similar posters but no other copy of this particular poster has been traced.
