Lot 537: Mckeever Andrew: (1894-1919) Canadian Fighter Ace Of World War I Credited With 31 Victories. Mckeever Was The Highest Scoring Two Seater Fighter Pilot In The Royal Flying Corps Or Royal Air Force. Rare Portion Of A D.S., A E Mckeever, One Page, Slim Oblong 8Vo, N.P., N.D. The Document Is Evidently Neatly Removed From The Foot Of A Combat Report, The Typed Text Stating, In Part, €˜Lieut. Miall-Smith Dived On A E.[Nemy] A.[Ircraft] And Apparently Overshot It. It Opened Fire On Him; He Went Into A Spin And Afterwards His Machine Was Seen To Break Up In The Air. I Opened Fire On The E.A. And Fired 25 Rounds At A 25 Yards Range. The E. A. Went Down Absolutely Out Of Control….€™ Autographs Of Mckeever Are Rare In Any Form As A Result Of His Early Death At The Age Of 25. Together With Leslie Powell (1896-1960) English Fighter Ace Of World War I Credited With 19 Victories, All But One Of Which Came While He Was Teamed With Mckeever. Portion Of A D.S., L A Powell, One Page, Slim Oblong 8Vo, N.P., N.D.
