Lot 516: Cornwallis William: (1744-1819) British Admiral Who Fought In The Napoleonic Wars As Commander-In-Chief Of The Channel Fleet. Friend Of Lord Nelson. Cornwallis States That His Correspondent Will Receive 'A Demand For Boatswain'S Stores For The Atalante. I Have Sent The Beaulieu To Be Supplied As She Is Totally Deficient Of Every Kind Of Stores'. The Admiral Adds That Fanshawe Should Put On Board Her Any Stores For The Squadron When She Is In Anchorage And That Rear Admiral Thornborough Will Direct The Same. With Integral Address Leaf Bearing The Remnants Of A Seal And With A Small Area Of Paper Loss Where The Seal Was Originally Broken.
