Lot 418: Raubal Geli: (1908-1931) Adolf Hitler'S Half-Niece, The Daughter Of Angela Raubal, Hitler'S Half-Sister. Raubal Was Close To Her Uncle From 1925 Until Her Suicide In 1931 And Lived At His Munich Apartment For Several Years. Hitler Was Extremely Possessive Of Raubal, Becoming Infatuated With Her. Indeed, He Is Reported To Have Told His Close Friend, Photographer Heinrich Hoffmann, That 'I'M So Concerned About Geli'S Future That I Feel I Have To Watch Over Her. I Love Geli And Could Marry Her….I Want To Stop Her From Falling Into The Hands Of Someone Unsuitable.' An Exceptionally Rare Vintage Signed And Inscribed Sepia 6 X 9 Photograph, The Image Depicting The Young Raubal In A Smiling Head And Shoulders Pose, Turning Her Head To Look Towards The Camera Across An Exposed Shoulder. Signed ('Geli') In Bold, Dark Fountain Pen Ink To A Light Area Of The Image, Adding A Greeting In German And The Date 20Th January 1929 In Her Hand. Autographs Of Raubal In Any Form Are Of The Utmost Rarity, Not Least Due To Her Suicide At The Young Age Of 23 When She Shot Herself With Hitler'S Pistol. Neatly Mounted, Otherwise Ex. Provenance: The Present Signed Photograph Was Originally Contained In An Album Of Personal Photographs, Including Some Of Adolf Hitler, That Belonged To The Raubal Family.
