The Carbon Typed Document States, In Part, 'Saw 12 E.A. Scouts Sw Of Cambrai. Patrol Turned Towards The E.A. And Engaged Rear Formation….Selected An Opponent And Fired A Burst Of 50 Rounds, E.A. Half Rolled, But S.E. Was Attacked By A Second E.A. And Was Forced To Break Off Combat….Attacked The Second E.A. And Fired 70 Rounds From Close Range….E.A. Went Down In A Slow Spin Out Of Control….' The Statement Relates To Dixon'S Fifth Victory On 21St August 1918. Boldly Signed By Dixon In Fountain Pen Ink At The Conclusion In His Capacity As Captain (Of 85 Squadron).
