The rim of armour, owned by Henry VIII, is embossed with numerous gold, decorative 'H & K' intricate motifs, to commemorate the marriage of Henry and his first wife, Katherine of Aragon. This shows his political allegiances as a young man only six years into his reign - combining the heraldic symbols of England and France. The engraving elsewhere on the armour show the torments of the lives of the saints - being boiled and beheaded
